The “green and clean” bandwagon surely has gained momentum over the past decade. Many home owners have jumped on board enthusiastically, only to become bogged down and befuddled by the hoards of information and products available. Thankfully, Eminè Mehmet, Interior Designer and Global Sustainability Ambassador, will be sharing her expertise with home owners at the HIA Sydney Home Show, guiding them through the daunting process of going green.
“If you’ve always thought that only experts can achieve an environmentally friendly interior — think again,” Eminè challenges. Leading the Sustainable Living Stage at this year’s show in Darling Harbour from May 16–19, Eminè will be addressing the question, “What Does Green Mean?” Showcasing easy-to-use, sustainable products, as well as running a discussion panel twice a day, she will prove that being kinder to the environment, does not mean sacrificing style.
“I’ve set up a living room on stage to showcase exciting new products with suppliers who share in a sustainable vision of the world,” she says. “We will give you information on how to make informed choices when selecting furnishings for your home, creating a better environment for you and your family.”
From walls and flooring options, to furniture ideas and heating solutions, Eminè will give insider tips on recent innovations from leading companies including Taubmans, BoConcept, Decoprint, Living Tiles, Heatilator Eco-Choice, and Kruger Carpets.
Eminè herself is a Green Star Accredited Professional, Fellow of the Design Institute of Australia, a past President of the Design Institute of Australia New South Wales Council, and has appeared on numerous television programs. While deeply involved in the design world, Eminè’s simple desire is make green living accessible to everyday home owners.
You can watch Eminè’s shows at 11am and 2pm at the HIA Sydney Home Show or you can also visit her website at eminemehmet.com
