A private developer has submitted an application in partnership with architecture firm Marchese Partners for a new aged care centre in Sydney’s northwest.
The $90 million project in Castle Hill will be titled Monash Residence and will be broken into two sections, one for seniors living and the other for aged care.
The six-storey structure will comprise of 90 rooms with six additional serviced care apartments, while the second component of the development will feature five separate senior living buildings. A total of 321 independent living units will be spread across 46,398 square metres.
The site, which is currently used as parking for the RSL, will be redeveloped, as well as the partial demolition of the RSL. These will be accompanied by three levels of basement parking for 1926 vehicles, designed to service the existing RSL and both components of the project. The development site sits 1.5 kilometres from the Castle Hill town centre and is in close proximity to the future Sydney Metro station.
The size of each building has been carefully planned so as not to disrupt the flow of the surrounding neighbourhood. “The scale and the bulk of the proposed development has been carefully treated to address each adjoining house on a case-by-case basis,” the architectural plans stated.
Amenities to be added to the site for residents include a wellness centre, consultants’ rooms, café, a la carte restaurant, lounge areas, library, gym, hair salon and a cinema.
