Meriton is bringing to market another set of units within its $3 billion Pagewood Green mega-development in Sydney’s Eastern suburbs.
The developer, owned by Australia’s second-richest man Harry Triguboff, is now rolling out sales for the Orchid, which houses 256 large apartments across two 21-storey buildings.
Designed by architectural firm PTW, Orchid offers a range of 1 – 4 bedroom apartments including double-storey penthouses with rooftop terraces.
The towers are expected to be completed in 2020.
Next to Eastgardens shopping in the suburb of Pagewood, the residential village will be Meriton’s largest to date, and is the largest residential project in the eastern suburbs.
More than 3000 apartments will be rolled out over 10 years on the former British American Tobacco and Holden manufacturing site.
Tower heights will range from eight to 21 storeys.
Orchid has been built as an urban oasis island surrounded by a total of 10,000 square metres of parkland and greenspace and overlooks a newly completed 8000sqm Central Park, with alfresco dining, supermarket and recreational facilities
One bedroom apartment prices start from $650,000 and penthouses will start from $1,400,000.
Residents will have access to a private indoor heated swimming pool, spa, sauna, gym. Shared spaces include a landscaped podium garden with barbecue facilities, undercover dining area and recreational turfed lawns. A boutique retail space on the ground floor will have nine specialty stores.
Meriton will upgrade the intersection of Bunnerong and Heffron Roads and will contribute $10.5 million to the council’s upgrade of the Wentworth Avenue and Page Street intersection.
The company purchased the first 10.5 hectares of the Pagewood Green site for $140 million in 2013 and a further six hectares for $90 million in 2015, according to its website.
The construction of the Orchid towers follows the roll out of the adjacent Allium apartment blocks towers which range from 16 to 20 storeys and house 487 apartments, many of them targeting the family market with three large bedrooms.
