Shade Factor Solution for Melbourne Beer Garden

The Village Belle Hotel is the local hangout for many St Kilda residents. Combining contemporary style with timeless charm, the hotel seamlessly blends its indoor and outdoor spaces through clever design.

Techne Architects + Interior have restored the original Victorian elements in the hotel and combined these restorations with contemporary technology and design, specifically within its beer garden.

Seeking a shade solution for its light-filled beer garden that features large floor-to-ceiling windows, Techne Architects + Interior approached Shade Factor to supply its innovative shade product, Warema, for the large-span windows.

Installing its Warema motorized vertical awnings, Shade Factor allowed the hotel to control the amount of natural light to let into the beer garden and screen the afternoon sun. ZIP guided blinds minimise solar heat before it reaches the glass to maintain a cooler, glare-free environment for patrons.

The Warema ZIP system also can withstand high winds, keeping the awning stable in windy Melbourne weather conditions.

Supplied in a black fabric finish, the shade solution seamlessly integrates into the rustic brick style of the façade. The choice of an open weave fabric allows the hotel-goers to still enjoy the views while being protected from the sun.

Shade Factor’s Warema products are an awe-inspiring, innovative shade solution. Custom-made in Germany and installed in Australia by Shade Factor specialists, Warema products hold an award-winning title and bring premium quality and innovation to Australian projects, big and small.
