In a fusion of Spanish streetwear and Italian elegance, El Departamento unveils a ground-breaking design at the Milan flagship store of Nude Project, drawing inspiration from classic Italian palaces.
Located at Porta Ticinese 64, a historic gateway transformed into a modern hub, this collaboration represents a significant international milestone for both entities.
Dubbed ‘Il Palazzo,’ the conceptualization by El Departamento encapsulates the opulence and sophistication reminiscent of Italian palaces, with seven distinctive elements weaving together to create a sensory journey for visitors.
The first element, ‘Il Tapetto,’ sets the tone of luxury within the store, featuring premium outfit displays and fitting rooms adorned with bespoke carpets. ‘Il Tavolo e la Fontana’ introduces a centrepiece in the exhibition area where a fountain harmonizes the space, surrounded by an exhibition table. ‘Il Lampadario’ illuminates the environment with custom-designed decorative lamps, casting a soft glow over the store, with the brand’s initials elegantly hovering above the fountain.
However, it’s the fourth element, ‘Il Cassetone,’ that steals the spotlight. This element showcases a faux coffered ceiling design, meticulously constructed with suspended plasterboard uprights in a grid formation, each panel meticulously backlighted. But what truly sets this installation apart is its dual functionality – not only does it add an air of grandeur to the space, but it also serves as a unique canvas for displaying famous artworks.
El Departamento’s ingenuity in merging architectural design with artistic expression is evident in this innovative approach. By transforming the ceiling into a dynamic display, the Milan flagship store becomes more than just a retail space; it becomes an immersive art gallery, inviting customers to engage with the brand’s ethos on a deeper level.
As visitors explore the store, they encounter the remaining elements – ‘Lo Specchio’ with its strategically backlighted mirrors, ‘Il Tessuti’ with its luxurious textiles, and ‘Il Giardineto’ with its stainless-steel planters evoking the essence of Italian gardens.
El Departamento’s Nude Project Milan Flagship Store at Porta Ticinese 64 stands as a testament to the seamless integration of heritage and modernity, offering a captivating experience that transcends traditional retail environments.
