A tranquil getaway: MountainTop Snug Resort

Nestled in the lush forests of Snug, just a short 20-minute drive from Hobart, the MountainTop Snug Resort House offers a serene escape for those seeking tranquillity and natural beauty.

Spread over 2.3 hectares, this retreat provides panoramic views of Snug Beach, Bruny Island North, and Tinderbox Peninsula, making it an ideal location for a relaxing vacation.

The resort comprises two interconnected yet independent structures, measuring 190 sqm and 98 sqm, capable of accommodating 6 to 8 guests. The design of the house harmonises with the terrain, with the buildings descending from west to east. The first cantilevered structure sits at the uppermost part of the site, while the second structure nestles beside the lower rock, blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings. The strategic positioning allows sunlight from the north to flood the interiors, reflecting beautifully off the surrounding rocks.

The resort’s design maximises the experience of unobstructed outdoor views, featuring large floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the eastern sea and southern forest scenery. The west side of the main rooms includes long, low windows that let in the afternoon sunlight, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Guests can enjoy morning and evening sunlight while being sheltered from mountain winds, and the outdoor activity spaces are perfect for barbecues and soaking up the sun.

Upon entering the house, guests are greeted by a minimalist yet comfortable interior. The use of wooden and natural tones creates a warm, harmonious atmosphere. The living room, bedrooms, and tatami spaces are adorned with white and charcoal linen fabrics, contrasting with the pure alabaster stone in the kitchen, dining, and bathroom areas. The exterior walls are clad in monument mini-orb and rendering, blending the buildings with their surroundings, while rusted steel panels transition between exterior and interior spaces. Modern amenities, including air conditioning, underfloor heating, stoves, refrigerators, microwaves, and double dishwashers, ensure a comfortable stay.

The spacious living room invites relaxation with its comfortable sofas and cosy fireplace. The bedrooms and tatami spaces offer excellent sleeping quarters, each house featuring a sea-view bathtub, with one also boasting an outdoor tub. Watching the sunset over the sea from the outdoor bathtub with a glass of champagne is the perfect way to end the day.

Surrounded by nature, the resort offers a peaceful environment where guests can unwind and enjoy a unique vacation experience. Whether savouring morning coffee while admiring the scenic views or relaxing by the fireplace under a starlit sky, MountainTop Snug Resort House promises an unforgettable holiday.
