Kingspan Australia Releases the K-Roc Insulated Wall and Ceiling Panels

Kingspan Insulated Panels has launched the K-Roc wall and ceiling panels. Manufactured in St Marys, Sydney, the new range eliminates the need to ship insulated panels from overseas. K-Roc panels aim to be efficient and straightforward to install. The range is prefabricated, simplifying handling and reduces installation time.

As a result, K-Roc panels can be used to close a building’s outer envelope quickly, letting trades get to work on the inside faster, reducing time on site. This efficiency shortens construction schedules and lowers labour costs, making projects more cost-effective and letting builders meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.

K-Roc panels achieve the necessary fire test results, as required by clause C2D10 (6)(g) of the National Construction Code (NCC). It can be used wherever a non-combustible material is required by the NCC.

Kingspan general manager, Jonathan Wormwell, says the company is excited to bring the locally produced K-Roc range of wall and ceiling panels to market: “K-Roc lets customers build smarter. Architects can select a product that’s high performing and simple to detail from the early design stage.

“Kingspan clients can work with our sales, specification, and technical teams to select the optimal product which satisfies the thermal and structural requirements of the project. Our teams can also recommend the best product for fire compliance that is deemed to satisfy the NCC based on specific industry requirements.”

Mineral wool is used in the panels and it’s resistant to moisture, mould and pests, ensuring that the panels maintain their performance over time without degradation. This is particularly relevant in Australia, where buildings must withstand extreme conditions, including freezing temperatures, extreme heat and high levels of humidity.

Beyond non-combustibility and fire-resistance properties, the mineral wool core contributes to the energy efficiency of the building through optimised thermal insulation. The lattice structure of the mineral wool core also dampens sound transmission effectively, making these panels ideal for environments where noise reduction is required.
