Crushed Concrete Takes Centre Stage at CAMPERLAB’s Paris Store

CAMPERLAB, the experimental arm of Spanish footwear brand Camper, has opened its first standalone flagship in the heart of Paris’s Le Marais—bringing with it a bold fusion of materiality and design.

Located at 15 rue Debelleyme, the store’s interior is the work of Harry Nuriev, founder of Crosby Studios, who has applied his signature Transformism philosophy to deliver a concept that challenges retail norms.

A key material throughout the new space is crushed concrete—often relegated to rubble in traditional construction. Here, it becomes a platform for display. Shoes and accessories are embedded directly into its rough surface, offering a deliberate juxtaposition between raw industrial textures and the clean, architectural lines of CAMPERLAB’s latest collections. This unexpected pairing not only reinforces the label’s experimental ethos but redefines how everyday materials can be reinterpreted in commercial design.

The Paris outpost is also a debut stage for CAMPERLAB’s Spring/Summer 2025 sunglasses line, further extending the brand’s radical visual language. With each product showcased as an object of art within an industrial context, the fitout reflects a growing trend of material repurposing and adaptive thinking in retail environments.

Beyond bricks and mortar, CAMPERLAB is also reimagining its digital presence. Developed in collaboration with Giga Design Studio, the brand’s new website embodies a Brutalist web design approach—marked by its raw, functional aesthetic and pared-back structure. Separate from Camper’s main platform, the new site reinforces CAMPERLAB’s distinct identity, taking cues from architecture to deliver a user experience that is both innovative and minimalist.

Blending traditional construction debris with cutting-edge product design, CAMPERLAB’s Paris flagship offers a compelling blueprint for the future of retail—one that’s rooted in material honesty, sustainability, and creative reinvention.
