Check out the incredible combination of NexGEN’s Capped Composite PermaTech® Decking, lightweight yet indestructible DeckCell, and ingenious Weatherstrip products!
Combined, they save significant money by eliminating the need to remove old flooring and redo waterproofing and membranes. This is a game-changer for cost-effective and durable balcony and rooftop solutions!
This rooftop bar nestled in the vibrant heart of Fremantle, Western Australia, was grappling with a significant issue—its flooring had fallen into a state of disrepair. The once pristine outdoor flooring had deteriorated, becoming marred by unsightly discolouration and decay that detracted from the space’s visual appeal and posed a significant threat to the underlying waterproof membrane. Replacing the expansive 200m2 flooring area presented a daunting challenge, with restricted access, the high cost and potential disruption to the existing waterproofing structure posing significant concerns.
After much analysis of all available options, the hotel owners decided that the most practical and innovative approach would be to install NexGEN Capped Composite PermaTech® Decking over the existing flooring without compromising the integrity of the waterproof membrane. This groundbreaking solution harnessed the power of the Weatherstrip and DeckCell products, allowing the decking to elegantly ‘float’ on top of the pre-existing surface without compromising the membrane beneath. The Weatherstrip meticulously sealed the gaps between the capped composite deck boards, ensuring that no trace of water could penetrate through to the membrane below. Furthermore, the ingenious design of this system allowed for easy removal, simplifying any future maintenance or membrane servicing.
NexGEN Weatherstrip is a cutting-edge extrusion crafted to seamlessly fit into the grooved edges of the Capped Composite PermaTech® Decking. This creates a tight seal that prevents water from seeping into the deck’s surface and dripping underneath. The exclusive extrusion excels at keeping moisture at bay, ensuring that the area beneath the deck stays pristine and dry for an extended period. Thanks to NexGEN Weatherstrip, you can enjoy a stunning, long-lasting deck and a dry space below.
Thanks to the efficiency of the DeckCell product, the installation process was a smooth journey. The project was successfully completed within the set timeframe and budget, all while minimising any inconvenience to hotel guests. The installation of NexGEN Decking transformed the rooftop into a contemporary oasis, boasting not just elegance but also ease of maintenance, resistance to fading and staining, and long-lasting durability. The rooftop bar owners were relieved to know that their rooftop would be easy to maintain and durable for years to come.
NexGEN’s Capped Composite PermaTech® Decking surface is crafted using a specialised class of polymers known as ionomers, which have been meticulously engineered to exhibit exceptional bond strength. By incorporating these ionomers, the deck surface gains remarkable toughness, tensile strength, impact resistance and wear resistance. This innovation ensures that the deck will endure the trials of everyday life and remain resilient over time. To attain top-quality decking, it’s essential for it to incorporate the revolutionary PermaTech® technology.
NexGEN are proud to offer unwavering support for this groundbreaking technology through an industry-leading Stain and Fade warranty that extends up to 50 years, as well as a Lifetime Structural Warranty. These comprehensive warranties provide you with the confidence and peace of mind that your investment is secure and backed by their commitment to quality and durability.
