What once was a dark and disconnected house has been transformed into a fresh and contemporary family home. The original layout featured blue tiles throughout the space, along with a tired timber kitchen and cream walls that hindered natural light from entering. The Smith & Sons team goal was to modernise and revamp the space, creating an open-plan haven for the clients and their growing family.
To achieve a fresh and timeless feel, the old kitchen was replaced with a stunning Vivid White design, complete with an elegant Essastone in Caolino Matt stone bench top. Pocket doors were added to create concealed overhead storage and appliance cupboards, making the kitchen sleek and clutter-free. Combined with white cabinetry and subway splash-back tiles featuring stylish matt black handle fixtures, lighting and appliances, including a freestanding Fish and Paykel cooktop and oven. The black accents complemented the natural timber vinyl plank flooring that now graces the entire home.
The bathrooms received a complete makeover as well. Both the main bathroom and ensuite were stripped down and revamped with new vanities, tiled flooring, walls and modern semi-framed shower screens and fixtures, tying them seamlessly to the kitchen’s design.
To accommodate the clients’ desire for more space, the builders ingeniously transformed an underused theatre room into a fourth bedroom. Additionally, utilising previously wasted space to create a designated playroom right next to the new bedroom. These additions beautifully connected to the updated lounge room, which boasts custom-built joinery to neatly store the television and other items, maximising space for a comfortable and spacious environment.
The result is a modern, welcoming and well-lit family home that meets all the client’ needs. From the sleek kitchen with smart storage solutions to the elegant bathrooms and well-designed bedrooms, every aspect of this home now exudes style and functionality. Smith & Sons are proud to have brought this transformation to life and to have created a beautiful, contemporary living space for its clients and their children.
