Master Plumbers Association (MPA) NSW has underscored the importance of maintaining diverse energy sources in domestic housing. MPA NSW chief executive Nathaniel Smith says: “The current overreliance on electrical power puts pressure on the grid, a significant risk looms over households – limited energy generation capacity may compromise essential services such as cooking, showering and cleaning.
“If we convert 100% of our domestic homes to electricity, we are inviting challenges that could exacerbate the already strained power infrastructure.”
He adds that natural gas and LPG are indispensable in ensuring a steady flow of energy that complements the grid, delivering reliable heating and cooking solutions irrespective of electrical outages. By integrating these fuels, homeowners can safeguard their daily routines and mitigate the impact of blackouts.
Home owners are encouraged to assess their energy systems and consider the benefits of incorporating natural gas or LPG options.
“A diversified energy approach empowers households to maintain their quality of life, even in challenging scenarios,” Nathaniel says.
In light of the impending energy crisis, residents should evaluate their energy dependencies carefully. MPA NSW says it remains committed to providing information and resources for safe and effective plumbing solutions incorporating natural gas and LPG.
