Bottega Veneta unveils flagship store in marble and walnut

Bottega Veneta has expanded its retail presence in the United States with the debut of a stunning two-story flagship boutique on Chicago’s East Oak Street. The new store showcases the Italian luxury house’s complete range of products, including its latest perfume and fine jewellery collections, within an open-plan interior designed to highlight its commitment to craftsmanship and Italian heritage.

With a striking 10-metre-high facade composed of glass, brass, and stone, the store offers an unobstructed view of its elegant interior. The design pays homage to Bottega Veneta’s rich history, incorporating a curated selection of Italian materials. Cement tiling lines the floors and walls, creating a subtle yet refined backdrop, while the deep green hues of Verde Saint-Denis marble are used to frame vitrines and display units. This marble, combined with bespoke walnut wood furniture—featuring tables, shelving, and leather seating woven in the brand’s signature Intreccio pattern—enhances the space’s sense of sophistication.

The flagship’s interior draws on the principles of Italian modernism, with its minimalist design and emphasis on natural textures. The harmonious blend of materials, including marble and walnut, creates a luminous atmosphere that elevates the shopping experience. A sculptural wraparound staircase made from walnut wood leads to the upper level, which houses a skylit lounge filled with greenery, providing a serene space for visitors to relax. This floor also features a dedicated VIC area, offering a private dressing suite and consultation space for personalised services.

The flagship’s opening coincides with the launch of Bottega Veneta’s pre-spring collection, which introduces new iterations of the Andiamo family and the debut of the Ciao Ciao bag. With its supple silhouette and hidden hook closure, the Ciao Ciao bag embodies the brand’s spirit of movement and travel, with its playful name—a nod to the Italian tradition of saying both ‘hello’ and ‘goodbye’—capturing the essence of the collection.

This new store is more than just a retail space; it is a celebration of Bottega Veneta’s commitment to quality, design, and Italian craftsmanship.
