Bottega Veneta, renowned for its exquisite craftsmanship and timeless elegance, has unveiled its latest architectural masterpiece in the heart of Milan’s historic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II shopping gallery.
Situated amidst the city’s cultural landmarks, including the Duomo and Teatro alla Scala, the new two-story store marks a fusion of tradition and modernity, showcasing the brand’s commitment to innovative design.
Designed by Bottega Veneta’s Creative Director, Matthieu Blazy, the store harmoniously blends three quintessential elements: glass, Italian walnut wood, and the lustrous green Verde Saint Denis marble. This design language pays homage to the brand’s iconic Avenue Montaigne flagship in Paris while infusing it with a contemporary sensibility.
‘There are different experiences of space in the store,’ shares Matthieu Blazy. ‘I wanted to express the idea of a domestic interior referring to Italian modernist architecture that contrasts with the aesthetic of a spaceship. And to capture the intimacy and the imagination of getting dressed.’
Central to the store’s aesthetic are geometric grids, where industrial square glass blocks seamlessly integrate into the walls and ceiling, framed by rich walnut wood panels. The grid pattern extends to the flooring, meticulously outlining the luxurious Verde Saint Denis marble. Walnut accents further define the space, adorning the curved stairway, tables, display cases, and shelving units.
Soft textures, including leather seating and wool carpets, imbue the environment with a sense of comfort and sophistication. Modular shelving units not only enhance the store’s functionality but also invite exploration and discovery, echoing Bottega Veneta’s ethos of individuality and creativity.
The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II store adds to Bottega Veneta’s presence in Milan, complementing its existing locations on Via Montenapoleone and Via Sant’ Andrea. Visitors can expect an exquisite selection of the brand’s leather goods, shoes, and women’s ready-to-wear collections, curated within an architectural marvel that seamlessly integrates into its historic surroundings.
With this latest venture, Bottega Veneta continues to redefine luxury retail, offering patrons an immersive experience that celebrates the brand’s heritage while embracing contemporary design principles. The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II store stands as a testament to the enduring allure of Italian craftsmanship and innovation in the world of fashion and design.
