Nestled in St Leonards, Sydney, the newly transformed Cultiver HQ and showroom encapsulates the grandeur of Italian villa design while subtly embracing organic Antipodean influences. This thoughtfully reimagined warehouse now serves as a flagship destination for Cultiver, Australia’s leading home accessories brand, combining functionality and aesthetic finesse.
Spanning two levels, the showroom showcases Cultiver’s curated collections of bedding, tableware, bath linens, loungewear, and more, creating spaces where trade customers can immerse themselves in the brand’s effortlessly layered style. Alongside, the headquarters integrates workspaces, a photo studio, and storage facilities, all while adhering to the company’s core design philosophy: enhancing spaces with mood-lifting colours and textures.
Despite budget constraints, the design team embraced resourceful creativity. Inspired by Italian loggias, arched colonnades and trompe-l’oeil checkerboard marble floors evoke a sense of timeless elegance. Each stone tile was hand-painted on poured concrete bases, a collaborative feat by Creative Finishes that adds depth and legacy to the space. Gestural arches soften transitions, replacing right angles with curves that mirror Cultiver’s Cedar Stripe linen pattern.
The ground floor’s gumleaf-hued kitchen nods to the Australian landscape, featuring bespoke joinery and a textured impasto splashback imprinted with native tree leaves. Vintage glass sconces along the stairwell echo this motif, tying in with Cultiver’s commitment to sustainable materials, including Italian linen, Turkish cotton, and OEKO-TEX®-certified recycled denim.
Upstairs, the showroom blends domestic charm with practical design. Recessed arches and partial-height walls define display zones, while warm terracotta hues unify surfaces. A multi-functional kitchen and lounge area accommodate staff and clients, with furnishings—like velveteen-upholstered vintage armchairs and a travertine coffee table—further complementing the relaxed, lived-in feel of Cultiver’s textiles.
From the soft leather-wrapped stair rail to the nubbly cream sofa adorned with seasonal cushions, every detail invites touch and interaction. The result is a space that marries Italian elegance with Australian practicality, embodying Cultiver’s ethos of effortless, tactile luxury.
