Minimalist Monochrome

El Departamento architecture and interior design studio has recently unveiled a striking new minimalist space for PJ. Lobster in Zaragoza, Spain.

The boutique’s design, under the creative direction of Alberto Eltini and Marina Martín, epitomises minimalist elegance. The interior is dominated by warm terracotta tones, which are contrasted with sleek stainless steel accents—a material that has become a consistent motif across all PJ. Lobster boutiques.

The monochromatic palette and clean lines create a sophisticated environment that harmoniously integrates design with the brand’s focus on visual health.

Geometry plays a central role in the store’s layout, with a symmetrical design that unfolds into a semicircle. This careful attention to form is evident in the custom-made elements, from the mirrors to the central counter, all of which have been meticulously designed to enhance the customer experience. The display furniture and optical measurement instruments are strategically positioned along the central axis, creating a sense of order and flow within the compact space.

The connection between the exterior and interior is reinforced by the use of stainless steel, which ties the façade to the boutique’s furnishings, underscoring PJ. Lobster’s high-tech ethos. The spatial zoning has been thoughtfully planned, with a prominent minimalist counter facilitating seamless transactions and large mirrors amplifying the sense of space, making product trials more comfortable. A dedicated rest area with inviting seating and refreshments adds a layer of hospitality, ensuring customers feel welcome and relaxed.

El Departamento’s meticulous approach to the design ensures that every aspect of the boutique, from the LED-illuminated eyewear displays to the ambient lighting, aligns with PJ. Lobster’s commitment to quality and accessibility. This collaboration in Zaragoza continues to propel PJ. Lobster’s offline expansion, blending innovative design with functional excellence to redefine traditional optical retail.
