In a significant leap towards a new chapter for the iconic Marina Mirage on the Gold Coast, plans for its long-anticipated $500-million redevelopment are finally making waves.

The brainchild of the Makris Group, led by Adelaide-based billionaire Con Makris, the Marina Mirage redevelopment promises a rejuvenated experience for locals and visitors alike. The project includes the addition of a third floor, introducing a fresh dimension to the complex. Furthermore, a limited residential component featuring luxury apartments and villas overlooking the picturesque Gold Coast Broadwater is poised to redefine waterfront living in the region.

One of the most exciting revelations is the group’s ongoing negotiations with a renowned boutique hotel brand to introduce more than 110 resort rooms as part of the redevelopment. This strategic move aims to elevate Marina Mirage into a world-class destination, catering not only to discerning shoppers and diners but also to luxury travellers seeking an unparalleled experience.

In a bid to fast-track the commencement of construction pending approval, the Makris Group is in early discussions with a top-tier contractor. This proactive approach underscores the commitment to bringing the vision to life promptly and efficiently.

The Marina Mirage’s charm, originally established in the 1980s, will receive a new lease on life through the addition of rooftop shade sails, restoring the wind to its sails and enhancing the overall aesthetic. Moreover, the redevelopment plans boast a curated selection of world-class restaurateurs, aimed at elevating the culinary offerings and solidifying Marina Mirage as a gastronomic haven.

As the Gold Coast eagerly anticipates the transformation of Marina Mirage, this ambitious project promises not only a revitalized retail and dining experience but also an infusion of luxury accommodation and residential living. The potential collaboration with a global boutique hotel brand and the meticulous curation of renowned restaurateurs indicate a commitment to creating a destination that transcends expectations, firmly establishing Marina Mirage as a premier lifestyle hub.
